Investment Associate Colombia (m/f/d)

Your Role & Tasks

Your tasks include but are not limited to the following:

Investment Management

  • Identify, source, and evaluate potential investments, performing financial, operational, market sector and strategic analysis
  • Pipeline management of social businesses
  • Develop relationships with players in the impact ecosystem (accelerators, funds, capacity builders) to generate new leads for the pipeline
  • Conduct field visits and assess investment opportunities
  • Perform due diligence processes, including validation of the business and financial model, preparation of memos to present for the Investment Committee meetings
  • Coordinate and work closely with third-party providers on legal and financial diligence and contract negotiation of potential investments.

Portfolio Management and other tasks

  • Support the team in specific aspects of portfolio management such as monitoring and reporting of portfolio companies’ performance, preparation of monthly local and quarterly portfolio reviews, assessing new opportunities in the portfolio to offer follow-on loans to solid companies
  • Other duties and responsibilities to help ensure YSBs success

What you bring to the table

  • Years-long, strong work experience with a proven track record leading a number of investment deals (equity or debt), including due diligence, contract negotiation, and loan management (must)
  • Educational background in industrial engineering, economics, finance, business, or related fields
  • Solid financial modelling skills and deep understanding of debt structures (must)
  • Solid experience in Colombian market (must) and understanding of the socio-economic and political context
  • Strategic mindset to understand complex business and produce solid investment memos
  • Strong communication skills to present investment deals to the Investment Committee
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (both a must)
  • Based in Colombia (must)
