Lead Research Analyst & Research Analyst (M/F/D)
Location: Flexible working location in a remote and international team setup

Details on the Project
The project is part of YSB's mission to engage more companies in sustainable business practices and social business. In the framework of this project, YSB is conducting the following key activities:
Empirical Research: Quantitative studies that link engagements in social business to key business benefits such as recruiting, employer engagement, brand recognition or ability to innovate to build a business case for social business and creating a scientific narrative for engaging companies in sustainable business.
Case Studies: Qualitative interviews with intrapreneurs and practitioners who have set up corporate social business initiatives. These case studies will outline the journey of social intrapreneurs from ideation to implementation and scale, their challenges along the way and missing support systems that can support or accelerate such initiatives.
Details on the Role
The lead research analyst will steer and develop the project in direct interaction with our Managing Director. Tasks include but are not limited to the following:
Develop/contribute to the development of research and evaluation plans, including the study design, sampling, measurement, data collection procedures, and data analysis strategies.
Use best practices and protocols in data collection, data quality, management, analysis, and reporting, including developing special forms and/or formats for analyzing and presenting data.
Manage data sets, such as merging, recording, and cleaning data using statistical software packages, and ensuring that data are ready for analysis.
Analyze data, including descriptive analyses and advanced statistical procedures using statistical software packages.
Prepare reports, including summarizing relevant background literature and reporting and interpreting findings from data analyses. This may include evaluation reports, white papers, and manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional Tasks of Lead Research Analyst
Take on full responsibility for the delivery of key project milestones within budget constraints.
Mentor other members of the project team, develop training, and provide continued guidance on data collection, analysis, and storage.
Oversee report preparation by other project team members, including reviewing reports for quality and accuracy, and ensuring that reporting deadlines are met.
Assist service providers, partners, and agencies with collecting and maintaining quality data, including developing data collection procedures, building data collection instruments, and regularly reviewing data and providing feedback to resolve data quality issues.
Collaborate with implementation team members to ensure successful project administration.
Contribute to YSB’s strategy for organizational and business development towards a data-driven impact organization.
What you bring to the table
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Management, or in a field of study related to the research. For Lead Analyst: Master's degree or PhD is preferred.
Two years of related experience in a research environment required. For Lead Research Analyst, at least four years of related experience, including team and/or service provider management is required.
Demonstrated interest in the fields of social business or social entrepreneurship
Knowledge of implementation science, rapid-cycle evaluation, and data visualization preferred.
Knowledge of design of research studies and data collection procedures. Ability to understand and utilize scientific terminology and research theory. Skill in using measurable and verifiable information for making decisions and judgments. Skill in statistical programming, data analysis, and interpreting findings using statistical software as well as spreadsheet applications.
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects at once, respond to tight timelines, pay attention to detail, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to write and present research analysis and findings in a clear and concise way.
Ability to work cooperatively with others and demonstrates professional, ethical, respectful, and courteous behavior when interacting with others.

Passion for social business and the ventures we invest in, experience in developing markets preferred
A high level of personal integrity and teamwork spirit
Fluency in written and oral English; German is an advantage but not required
International travel required
