Investment Associate Kenya (m/f/d)

Your Role & Tasks

Sourcing and Investment Support

  • Support the complete cycle of investment, incl. initial review memo,  financial analyses and build financial models, preparation of Investment Committees memos and  presentations, due diligence, and deal execution
  • Help maintain a strong sourcing pipeline
  • Analyse the fund, sector, and company exposure to date as an input to sourcing
  • Screen and rank the pipeline to prioritize investment opportunities
  • Share pipeline investment opportunities in bi-weekly calls with the local and Global Investment & Portfolio Manager

Portfolio Support

  • Prepare Monthly and Semi-Annual Portfolio Review 
  • Interact with social entrepreneurs on a monthly basis to request and consolidate financial and social impact data
  • Conduct annual entrepreneur surveys and associated reports

Other tasks

  • Participate in projects to improve investment and portfolio management process
  • Attend relevant events in Kenya (i.e. pitch competitions, fairs, etc.)
  • Help maintain a strong partnership with accelerators, funders, impact investors, and a strong network with entrepreneurs

What you bring to the table

  • Background in economics, finance, accounting, business administration, international development, or related fields
  • Financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Communication skills
  • Progressed experiences in the investment sector; portfolio support and/or sourcing experience a plus
  • Experience in the Kenyan market
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Fluent English in writing and speaking
