As our Brand and Communications Director (m/f/d), you will be part of YSB's mission to turn business into a force for good. We have spent the last decade supporting inspiring social businesses, entrepreneurs and corporate changemakers. You will tell their stories, turn our ideas into movements and create an activist brand that inspires people to use their business skills for a sustainable future for us all. You will lead a small team of 2 in Europe, as well as Comms leads in countries and freelancers.
Your tasks include but are not limited to the following:
You will take ownership of all our strategic branding decisions for our Yunus Social Business organizations. Through that, you will help us excite more and more entrepreneurs, investors, and corporations about the idea of social business as a force for good
We have plenty of stories that are worth telling. You’ll increase their reach across media, important sector influencers, and organizations. Tell the story of YSB via mainstream and industry media by building strong media relations.
Through your creativity and excitement, you will drive content for our Website, Blog, Social Media, podcasts, and Newsletters. Together with your small team you will grow and manage our existing channels and monitor performance to maximize our communications potential.
You will lead your small team from the front by actively working on copy-writing, production of marketing materials, and key publications such as our annual reports and in-depth research series Business As Unusual.
You will take ownership of all our strategic branding decisions for our Yunus Social Business organizations. Through that, you will help us excite more and more entrepreneurs, investors, and corporations about the idea of social business as a force for good.
We are big on inspiring others to take action through exciting events and partnership experiences that showcase examples for change. You will organize and promote key events that create these experiences together with key partners. These include e.g. BCG, IKEA Foundation, Covid Alliance for Social Entrepreneurs and are linked to our participation in high-level events incl. World Economic Forum, Skoll World Forum, UN Week in New York, etc. In 2022, we are also celebrating our 10 year anniversary and there will be a number of comms opportunities linked to this
We are a social business leader, which means we take care of our own sustainability. Therefore, you will ensure that all of our communication activities lead to business and impact results through performance marketing principles.
You have previously led brand and communications efforts (a must) within a fast-growing, ideally international setting – including metric-based strategy development, execution, and performance tracking
You understand the challenges and opportunities of a global brand icon like Prof. Yunus combined with a young and evolving organization like YSB and the necessary strategies to further amplify its reach
You are a digital native with a firm grasp of all relevant communication channels, with experience in Social Media (especially LinkedIn), Email Newsletters, SEO, Paid Ads
You are a self-starter with top-notch writing, storytelling, and communications skills (ideally journalistic, screenwriting background), can manage projects independently without a lot of guidance and are able to manage several projects at the same time under time pressure
You can build consensus among a diverse and international group and feel comfortable with remote teamwork and are excited about being part of a diverse, fast-paced, global start-up environment
You are passionate about and immersed in relevant topics, developments, and conversations in the field of social entrepreneurship, impact, and innovation
You are fluent and proficient in spoken and written English (a must) and German (strongly preferred) and have engaging writing skills and keen copy-editing skills
Applications will be particularly welcome from those who have design experience creating and editing cross-channel assets, including photo and video, using editing software such as Canva, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, or others
