The challenge
English is the language of business in India and command of English is important to climb up the employability ladder. However, attainment of quality English language education remains a critical issue, due to inadequate teacher training and lack of focus on life skills.
The innovation
Ignis Careers is caters towards solving these challenges by offering an ancillary curriculum to Affordable Private Schools and Government Schools called the English Language & Life Skills (ESL) program. The ESL program shifts focus from rote memorization of academic content to understanding, and in the long-term, it prepares students for future employment where a strong grasp on English language and life skills is important.
The impact
Ignis charges students an annual fee per academic year at prices which are 60-70% lower than its market counterparts, making it affordable for the BoP students.
